In 1992, Chris Bates founded Bates Electric with a simple belief: if you take care of your customers and do the work right, the business will take care of itself.
He started with one employee, one van, and a half-page Yellow Pages ad. Thirty-four years later, Bates Electric has grown to over 150 employees serving 20+ markets across the country. That belief hasn’t changed.
His brother Andy joined in those early years, learning the business from the ground up. Today Andy serves as COO, helping oversee day-to-day operations across all locations. The two of them have been building this company together for more than 30 years.

We lost Gary recently, and his passing reminded us of something important: the people who showed up in the early days are the reason we became what we are.
